Baltimore Washington Psychoanalysts

Inclement Weather Policy
for Classes and Meetings

In the event of a snow or ice storm, please call the Institute (from the Baltimore area, call 410/792-8060; from the Washington, DC area, call 301/470-3635) if you have a question about a potential change in the class schedule.  Calls will not be made directly to your homes or offices if the institute has canceled classes due to inclement weather.

In most cases during the workweek, decisions about class and meeting cancellations are made in the afternoon, in order to allow for time to assess the necessity to cancel.  Please bear this in mind if you are planning to call the Institute to find out if classes/meetings will be held or not.

If you have a question as to whether or not classes will be held on a particular class night, and the institute is closed, there will be a message on the institute's answering machine by 3:00 p.m. with information about the class schedule.  For information about Saturday classes or class cancellations, there will be a message on the institute's answering machine by 6:00 a.m. Saturday.  Please be patient if the lines are busy; there might be many calls coming in at the same time.

In the case of cancellation of weekend meetings due to inclement weather (this includes APT, Speakers Seminars, Psychoanalytic Forums, and Postgraduate Seminars), we will try to put an outgoing message announcing the cancellation on the answering machines for both the Baltimore and Washington areas at least two hours before the program is scheduled to begin.

Information about rescheduling of canceled meetings will then be forthcoming.
