The mission of the Baltimore Washington
Institute for Psychoanalysis comprises three main elements:
▪
to train mental health professionals
(psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers) and selected other
professionals in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis
▪
to provide courses, lectures,
information services, and research opportunities to mental health
practitioners and other interested persons in the community as well as to
our own members
▪ to provide a variety of services to the community, including affordable psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, and consultation to day-care providers.

Membership Institute membership is open to members of the Baltimore Washington Center for Psychoanalysis who are already members of the Society, and who demonstrate an active interest and participation in the activities of the Institute. Application for each Institute membership category must be made in writing to the secretary of the Institute, and addressed to the Institute's administrative office.
